The best of me is yet to come! #becauseMe

My dream is to create a life that I love so I don’t need a vacation. Loving my body has been a challenge throughout the years. Society tells us that we need to look a certain way in order to succeed in life. Up until my recent trip to the Yukon, I believed it. It’s not true though. We spend so much time seeking approval from other people. We forget that we are all on different journeys doing our best!

I was born with clubfeet. This meant, according to the textbook definition, that I would have difficulty walking for most of my life. I believed this for a long time and gave up doing any sort of physical activity. However, I forgot am unique. No one else has to walk with my feet other than me; therefore, I should be the one to decide what to do.

In twenty-fourteen, I decided to stop putting invisible limitations on myself and just do my best. They say, slow and steady wins the race. I managed to sign up for a 5km race, actually completed it. This was a huge success! Why had I wasted so much time not doing things that I loved?

Since then, I have realized that we are all unique. We are all doing our best based on our own circumstances.  Regardless of my personal challenges, I know that I am able to participate in fun outdoor activities like those of Fat Girls Hiking! I believe we are all capable of doing extraordinary feats if we set our mind to it. We are all worthy of feeling awesome! I am excited to join Fat Girls Hiking as one of the Montreal Chapter Ambassadors to share my success story and encourage others to step out of their comfort zones! Be a pineapple: Stand up straight, wear a crown and always be sweet on the inside.

I am 40 years old the mother of 2 very actives boys who play Football, soccer, ice hockey and La Crosse.  I became more active mostly because of them. I wanted to be more than a hockey/soccer Mom.

I played and coached soccer in a league, try my best in ice Hockey and I rediscover skiing, skating, cycling and camping.

But in recent year, I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and arthritis so that causes me to slow down my activities. I also had a very stressful job working in IT Project Management and Testing and had difficulty copping with stress.

I discover Health at any size movement last year and ditch the diet mentality. I discover great bloggers including Summer Valentine and when the opportunity of becoming an ambassador for Fat Girls Hiking arrived, I jumped right into it.  To me now, being active is being in sync with my body and not only for performances and weight lost.  I began yoga to relieve my stress and rediscover joyful movement like hiking to feel my body and accept it as is. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

J’ai découvert l’an passé le mouvement de Nutrition positive et Health at any size.
