Hey, y’all, my name is Macy, and I am so excited to be the first ambassador for the Atlanta chapter of FGH! I grew up in Harrogate, Tennessee, near Cumberland Gap, so I was always surrounded by beautiful mountains and trails to explore. Unfortunately, I did most of my admiring from afar, because I was very ashamed to be a fat woman in nature (and everywhere, to be honest). Ever since I started my journey towards body positivity in 2016, I have been learning to figure out how to appreciate my chronically ill, ever-changing today body. Now I am finally ready to hit the trails, take up space, and reconnect with nature. I am an ally to all, a Master of Social Work candidate, an avid reader, and a life-long learner. I cannot wait to explore the beauty of Atlanta and build community with you!
