The NYC area now has a FGH chapter!  The area includes:  NYC, suburbs & surrounding areas within 2 hours of the city.  Events for the area will be posted on the main social Media pages as well as the Eventbrite page, ‘follow’ Fat Girls Hiking to receive an email whenever a new hike is posted:  https://www.eventbrite.com/o/fat-girls-hiking-8629131029

I’m Kristen! I’m originally from Toronto but I’ve lived in New York almost ten years now. I’ve always loved the outdoors and hiking and I can’t wait to start building a community of hikers here! Especially looking forward to connecting with more fat positive folks who are looking to meet other likeminded people! Hope to see you all at a hike very soon!

Hi, I’m Vanessa, I am beyond thrilled to serve as one of the ambassadors for the New York Chapter. When I first heard about Fat Girls Hiking, I was like yes! My next thought was “How can I be a part of this?”  When I heard that Summer was coming to New York I jumped at the chance of hiking along side of her. I had such a great experience hiking,  I didn’t feel intimidated or rushed or that there was a set goal other than enjoying your body in nature.
I want to feel this way forever and help others feel the same.
